Facts are facts.
My son is big...huge...ginormous.
For the past 6 months I've claimed that he's 2. It's easier that way. Easier than saying he's 1 and getting the raised eyebrows, easier than explaining that his father is 6'3, he's a 96% kinda boy, or he was an infant for a mere for 6 weeks, etc.Just easier to lie.
You Lied?!?!?
Yes Son, we lied. But the good news is those 2 candles mean that you are now an honest Man. Officially 2! Sure, a few have asked if you were turning 3 already, but being 2 puts you in the toddler division, which includes 3, so you're covered. An honest man. But I will show a birth certificate if they try and kick you out of nursery early.
With our nontraditional boy, we celebrate with on unorthodox birthday. Blueberry coffee cake for breakfast...hence the pj's. If an odd orange glow results from consuming too many carrots, this boy will soon sport at purplish tint from the copious amounts of blueberries he eats. Thankfully they've been on sale for $0.88 and we've been able to indulge his habit.
In our continuing efforts to immerse ourselves in the Midwestern culture that we now dwell, we took the family to the county fair where...
birthday boy was able to view hundreds of John Deer tractors...
pet, and smell, livestock (side note, a cow defecated a few feet from Shannon and she mentally checked out instantly)
the excitement of the fair proved to be too much for our little man who had a meltdown before presents and ice cream. It was a stifling 85 degrees, which caused a heat advisory here in Iowa. Yes my southern friends, a heat advisory. Laugh now, but I will not be laughing when you are at the park in February and I am hugging my sunlamp attempting to ward off seasonal depression. Anyways, presents (with a strong emphasis on CARS) were opened the following day.
We will attempt weaning this dude off of the pacifier and pink snuggly bear over the course of the year. Goal = age 3 snuggly free or by kindergartner the boys will laugh at his love for a pink bear, which everyone comes first.
Life just wouldn't be the same without those big brown eyes.
Or this cheesy smile that has taken a liking to running into the street, unbuckling his seat belt on freeways, and throwing food at every meal.

I can't believe he is two already, that is just amazing!! I miss that sweet boy, he is so CUTE!!! Give him a happy birthday kiss from me.
Happy Birthday Adam! I feel your pain our little guy is also in the 96% club and last week our nursery leader with a smile said, "um he is a GOOD eater! He eats more than any of the other kids." We feel your pain, but we also have in common the love of CARS, and cute smiles. Happy birthday big boy!
aww, that kid just melts my heart!Such a cutie! And, he's wearing the shirt you made..lookin good little man! Love his cheesy smile. Yep, life would never be the same without that funny handsome boy! He's a go with the flow kinda guy. By the way, shannon looks super cool with her sunglasses. Tell her she's awesome and rockin those glasses! love those kids
I know we haven't seen eachother in years but I still just enjoy reading your blog so much! you are hilarious!
And your son in perfect. I have a 95%-er myself.
Happy Birthday to Adam!!! I MISS him tons! I love his pictures. He is so adorable that I can't stand it!! I want to call and "talk" to Adam and wish him a happy birthday in person :)!! Love you!
P.S. Our heat index today and tomorrow is 110! Go and enjoy your weather there while you can!
HE IS SOOOOOO CUTE!! Hey it just occurred to me that our daughter is the perfect age to marry him, if Tyson and Shannon don't work out. Porter's not quite that ahead of the curve but everyone always thinks he's 3. He is tall for two but it's mostly because he talks in full understandable sentences. The hard part is people then expect them to act like their older and then you get funny looks...oh well, who cares what people think anyway.
I can't believe our little kiddos are 2! And, he's adorable...all 96% of him. I hope Alyssa finds him one day at BYU! :)
Happy Birthday Adam!!! I can not believe how big he has gotten in the last few months! Matt and I miss him tons- maybe we will come visit soon! Miss you guys!
AWWW! What a cute man! Iowa looks very pretty. I know you'll make tons of friends and get tons of new recipes. ;) Hope you guys are enjoying it.
Charlie's 2nd b-day was his "CARS" b-day, too! Next year, you can look forward to a Batman b-day (that's at least what Charlie wants for his #3 next month!).
honestly I have had to remind myself that he wasn't two yet! he's a very cute and sweet boy. Wow, I don't know how you guys are surviving in that crazy heat with that heat advisory :) my car temp read 117 degrees when I started it up yesterday. I had to go into a store with sweat stains on my back, stomach, and yes, even my arm pits.
I LOVE your blog! I always get the best happy goofy feelings when I read about ya'll! He is a doll!! at 2 or umm at 2.
