What to do when you're bored in TN

Just thought you would enjoy seeing what a little boredom and a little creativity can amount to when you leave your brother in charge of watching your child.

Dreams do come true

Ok, I'm going to confuse you with my title...Steve's always joked that Shannon would be the kid in gym class that would be spinning circles in the corner while the other kids played basketball or something. Well, Shannon's been in Kindermusic classes all fall and what does she do the ENTIRE class? Spin circles in the corner! I tried and tried and finally gave up and let her enjoy her "spinning" class. Needless to say I'm not signing her up for next semester. She can spin circles in her room for FREE.

A Hard Days' Night

We try to teach Shannon principles of hard work will gain the reward. Well, as you can see here, the princess was diligent in her cake walk and thus was able to win the prize.

The Princess Demands Candy!

Ok, I've proven that I'm not a die hard blogger as I did not go home Oct. 31, download pics, and post a new blog. However, it was because my daughter was a party animal on Halloween and it has taken me a few days to recover.

In true Shannon fashion - the girl refused to take a nap on Halloween until 4 pm, then woke up at 5 pm cranky and dramatic. We had to shovel food into her, get dressed, and rush off to Trunk or Treat. She was in a bit of a daze until the candy and sugar kicked in and then she shifted into high gear. She was a trick or treating pro. When she had made the rounds she started gathering whatever candy was left to hand out and transferring it into her bucket.

Next stop - Marti and David's new house to meet Katie (dog). David and Steve share similar tendencies when it comes to celebrating holidays (full throttle) and Shannon's innocent "trick or treat" was followed by several jars of play dough, toys, candy, full size candy bars, a bag of marshmallows(a real bag of marshmallows). Shannon finally drew the line when he tried to get a king size Hersey bar into her princess bucket - "I think it's too big" she replied. We got more candy at Marti and David's than all of trunk or treat. After a tour of the house and several "ohhhs and awhhhs" over updates and upgrades, we called it a night and literally had to drag Shannon.

Here's the clincher - most of you are aware of our horror tales from potty training. Well, Shannon will not get any sweets until those poo poos start getting into the potty. Yes, it's harsh, but desperate times call for desperate measures and we promise not to touch her candy!
